Welcome to the Eastwood United Methodist Church website!

Caruthersville is a great place to be and Eastwood Memorial is a great church to attend.

Take some time and browse the site.  Our goal is to be an "outwardly focused" church, taking the love of Christ beyond the walls of the building. In addition to bringing others to Christ, we want to make a positive difference in our community.

We have a casual service at 8:30 and a traditional service at 10:30. Sunday school is every Sunday at 9:30.  We offer a chance to grow in many ways. We have activities throughout the week, small groups, Bible studies, and a loving, caring church family.

Look around the site. If you want to find a place to belong, a place where you can make a difference, an opportunity to impact others,
and a way to influence your community, join us at Eastwood memorial United Methodist Church in Caruthersville, Missouri.

God Bless,

Rev. Jerry Mattson, Pastor

Holy Week Services

Holy Week Services: Wednesday April 17 will be at Eastwood Memorial at 7:00 p.m. A reception will follow the service in Dorroh Hall. Rev. Ricky Lyle will be giving the message.  Thursday April 18 will be at the Presbyterian Church at 7:00 p.m. Communion will be served. Rev. Jerry Mattson will be giving the message

Palm Sunday is April 14 and we will have the children bring in palms so be sure to bring your children and/or grandchildren to church for the 10:30 service. It is always nice to see the children carrying the palms.

The choir will be presenting an Easter Camtata this year on Easter Sunday at the 10:30 service. There will be only one service that day.  We look forward to the beautiful music our wonderful choir provides.  The title is Hallelujah! What a Savior.

Dorroh Hall

Dorroh Hall will be closed to everyone from Monday, April 1 through Friday, April 5. We are having the floors stripped and waxed and the floor will need the week to dry.

Thank you Sheila!

We always hear nice comments about how pretty Dorroh Hall looks with the seasonal decorations and holiday decorations throughout the year. Our chuch custodian, Sheila Simpson is responsible for that. She uses her personal time to decorate Dorroh Hall for every occasion and most of the decorations belong to her. It is wonderful that she shares her talents with the church and it is past time to give her a big thank you! S0

THANK YOU SHEILA FOR SHARING YOUR TALENTS AND TIME WITH US!

Ash Wednesday Service

The Ash Wednesday Servicwe will be on March 6, 2019 in the Sanctuary at 6:00 p.m. This is the beginning of our Lenten worship services and we hope to see you there.

Every Tuesday morning there is a Men's Prayer Breakfast at 7:00 a.m. in Dorroh Hall.  There are currently around five men attending from different churches.  This is for anyone from any church so please join the group if you are interested and have the time.

Please check the calendar or webpage and if you are unable to be liturgist or to acolyte on a particular Sunday, please call Pat in the church office and let me know. 573-333-2705

Potluck Dinners

We have four potlucks a year, one in May for the graduatin seniors, one in August or September when schools starts, one in November for Thanksgiving and one in December for Christmas.  The church needs 2 people to volunteer to host each one of these dinners.  It doesn't always need to be women, the men an host as well.  We hope you will think about hosting and volunteer to give your time..
